Casey's New Orleans Snowballs

Saturday, August 6, 2011

One a boiling hot day in summer, what can you do to chill you down fast? One of the best solution is get a snowball (shaved ice) from Casey's. I love shaved ice, but not all of them. One of the best was made by my mom like long time ago when we still had the shaved ice machine at home. The one at Houston chinatown with fruit was good, but isn't that too big for one person? I mean unless I am really hungry, otherwise I don't feel like I wanna buy one. VoilĂ ~~~finally went to Casey's and ordered "Boston Cream Pie" and it was AMAZING! With concentrated milk and other ingredients, the junior size is sell for $2 (included tax). Within a few bites, it cooled me down instantly. Summer just doesn't seem hot anymore. haha I love summer :D Gotta try other snowballs from Casey's, specially Casey's Famous Chocolate!!!

Watched the movie "Skyline" I was totally confused. Lot of things just didn't make sense to me. Also, the ending kept me wonder what happen next, urggg I don't like it.

Jersey Shore

Thursday, July 28, 2011
Late night I dreamt that I was dreaming. For some reasons, I wanna wake up in that dream, and I tried very hard and I did it. However, I also woke up myself in my real life. haha how weird!

Recently I was watching Jersey Shore. Although it was all about clubbing and arguing, I did learn something. I learned that when something call "trust" is lost, things just can't go back as before. Also, people don't change. So, if you know somebody that you can't stand. Don't waste your time. He/she will just keep disappointing you. Well, except in some cases that happen very rarely.

Another failure of cooking

Wednesday, July 20, 2011
As I maybe moving out soon, I tried to clean up my apt. I found a bag of green beans sitting in my pantry for a really long time. So, I decided I should finish it, so I don't have to carry it when I move out. Well, actually I never learned how to make green beans soup. But I guess it shouldn't be too hard as I saw my mom made it in the past (I didn't pay attention though lol) I poured all bag of green beans into my pot without really thinking, and later I found out that it was too much to me. It was like a big pot of green bean soup! Seriously, I doubt that when can I finish all of them. I don't wanna eat green beans soup everyday... -_-" Anyways, lesson learned :)

Found this Twix Java at a gas station unexpectedly. It was the only one there. I didn't know it was limited edition or what, but I couldn't help that I had to buy and try it. I never seen it before in other store. Although it turned out wasn't that great as I expected. The chocolate caramel was harder than the normal caramel in the original Twix. Also, it is kinda sweet. Actually, I take it back. Maybe I should pair it with coffee, I think it may taste good. OMG, now I am really wondering how will it taste like. lol So bad I can't find it anymore.

Life is more fun when you pay little more attention to thing around you

A Fun Night

"I'd rather mess up than miss out completely" from The Oxford Murders

It is totally the motto of my life. We all can life once, and time flies. (Seriously, I don't even know since when I am not a kid anymore, not a teenager anymore, and am an adult already.) Lot of times, I knew that things wouldn't go as the way I thought it would. I knew that at the end I might just mess up. However, you never know what would you get if you were there. I mean, of course nothing bad would gotta happen on you if you never do anything, but at the same time it means nothing good would happen on you neither. At the end of your life, you will just have a blank memory, like you haven't lived. That's really sad. Because of this reason, actually I want be part on everything. Like, I would love to do all kind of volunteering as long as I think I am capable. Even though, my personality isn't the talkative type. I might not talk much, but still I enjoyed it as I did something.

Yesterday, it was the first time of my life rode on the back of a truck. As the trip was pretty short, it was ok. Of course my hair was going crazy as it was windy. I am just thinking what would happen if a person wear a wig and sit on the back of truck? Would it...blow away? haha

Yesterday also my first time went to a gay bar. It was actually amazing. I mean the lighting was awesome. Those strong blinking light, made me see people like in stop-motion. It was really cool. Too bad that I can't dance. Dancing is so not my thing.

My weird life

Friday, June 17, 2011
Don't get me wrong. I love my life. But somehow what happened to my life is kinda weird.

Lot of times, when I eat out with my friends and got some fortune cookies at the end of the meal, I always got the weird one. I mean, while my friends got the normal one like some kind of words of wisdom, I got the one something like, "don't try to feed the squirrels, they will bite you"... =_=" seriously? I like squirrel, but still I scare to put food on my hand and feed them. What happen if they really bite me? I don't want rabies.

In my whole life, I kept saying I would never wear contact lens. Not because I don't want to. But I was scared to put on the contact lens, and also thought it looks horrible to put the fingers into the eyes and gets the contacts lens out. I was still saying that last week. However, since Monday I wore the contact lens for one eye, slept with it for almost 4 days, probably will continue wearing it at least for another 5 days. Again, I felt like SERIOUSLY? From a girl who never and thought never would wear contact lens to someone wearing contact lens for 24 hours everyday (well, for one eye). haha it's pretty extreme.

Actually it wasn't my decision. I didn't have choice. In my situation, I have to wear the contact lens and sleep with it for medial reason. (I didn't know since when I scratched my cornea, and the scratched was pretty big too. ) It called bandage contact. So, when I blink it won't disrupt the cornea self-healing.

Well, actually this experience wasn't that bad. Now, I am kinda used to wear contact lens. I am actually want to get color contact lenses as they are really pretty. I haven't decided which color I wanna get. I am thinking about gray/green/hazel :D

Life is full of surprise. Maybe my life is a little bit weird, but it makes my life more interesting.

Chocolate Croissant @ Whole Foods Market

Thursday, June 16, 2011

As I was at North Austin, I thought it would be great to visit Whole Foods, get some Dry Soda and try the Thai noodle soup thing that I always wanna try. Unfortunately, it wasn't one of my lucky days that they only had the flavors that I didn't want to buy, and the Whole Foods Market at North Austin was pretty small that they didn't have thai noodle thing that I wanna try. I was very hungry. That's why I got this chocolate croissant.

At first I was thinking it might not be smart to buy pastries at 7:30 p.m., because they had been sitting there all day long and probably not too fresh. But due to the fact that I couldn't resist the chocolate temptation, I bought it anyway, and proved I was wrong. This croissant was great. Inside the croissant was still pretty moist. The chocolate portion was right and it wasn't too sweet. Actually they sold a regular croissant at the same price as chocolate one. Well, if you are not on diet, and care the calories that much, definitely should buy chocolate one over the regular one if you want croissant.

A funny side story was, when I was enjoying my croissant, there was a staff cleaning the table, and he asked me did I want the pepper (he was holding the pepper that was from other table)…..I was like... looked at my croissant, and then the pepper, and then him. After a few seconds he said "oh" and went away. I felt like maybe I should add some pepper next time to see how will it taste like lol

Price: $2.29 (tax free ^^ )

Types of friends on Facebook

Monday, April 18, 2011
When I saw this video on youtube, for just like for 30 seconds, I knew I gonna love it. Whenever it mentioned a new type of "friends/stars", a real person, who is a friend of mine on my facebook, would instantly pop up in my mind.

Some people might think these people are "weird", but to me I love these people. Just think about it for a second. Facebook is popular because we can connect to each other. We can know what is going on is their life through the pictures they upload and the status they put up. Also, via their sharing, it definitely broaden my views. Without these people being active on facebook, facebook wouldn't be that interesting.

btw I think I am belonged to food-o-grapher category ;p
